Facility Maintenance

Reports to Facility Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibility Areas

•         Operate all types of material handling equipment and tools in order to perform maintenance and repair.

•         Select and oversee outside service providers for necessary repairs when independent contractors are required

•         Possess a complete understanding of training and communication resources relevant to the position

•         Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position.

•         Possess a complete understanding of applicable company systems, policies and procedures.

•         Maintain an awareness of loss prevention, security and safety following the guidelines provided by management or the Human Resources Department and/or as outlined in the Associate Guide.

•         Safety-Adhere to company safety and OSHA guidelines to prevent personal and product facility damage

•         Loss prevention-Follow the loss prevention and security guidelines as outlines in the Associate Guide to minimize inventory shrinkage and profit loss; Adhere to all Foreign-trade Zone procedures and guidelines to maximize FTZ compliance and benefits and minimize U.S. Customs penalties and fines.

•         Productivity-Identify, repair and solve building and equipment issues, including conveyors and motors, in order to maintain business productivity; Focus on promoting sales as they pertain to, or are driven by your position; Maintain awareness and demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of computers, systems and programs relevant to the position.

Job Requirements

•         Knowledge-Proficiency in English language skills (written and verbal), basic math skills; basic electrical, mechanical, carpentry and conveyor skills; ability to interpret blue prints and schematic drawings

•         Previous Experience-Minimum of 3 years mechanical and electrical experience

•         Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software-General Office equipment, including computer and printer, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), company email system, telephone, copier, fax machine, calculator, powered industrial equipment, headphones, hand tools, power hand tools, conveyor, walkie-talkie, tape measure, pallet jack, hand truck/dolly, ladder, stepstool, electrical adapter, baler

•         Certifications and/or Degrees-High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred, equipment certification as needed

•         Travel-As needed

•         Physical and Visual Activities-On a daily basis, muse be able to constantly have visual acuity near and far. Ability to frequently communicate, move around the facility, reach for product or supplies, push/pull, climb. May occasionally remain stationary, operate computer/POS/office equipment, lift, carry, handle paperwork, kneel, crawl, use foot controls to operate equipment, bend, crouch, twist, ascend/descend and/or balance.

•         Physical Demands-Movement of product, supplies and/or boxes to and from all levels of the facility. Ability to move and/or lift up to 65 lbs; heavier product with team assist.

•         Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions-Hot/Cold temperature changes, concrete floors, odors, dust and mechanical/electrical/chemical hazards possible
